Castor Gonzalez-Escobar is Partner of the Law Firm GR LEX AMERICAS in charge of the Firm’s liaison office in New York City and Director for Latin America of Strategic IP Information Pte. Ltd. (SIPI).

Mr. Gonzalez-Escobar has an extensive experience dealing with the management of Intellectual Property Rights across the Latin American region. In particular, Mr. González-Escobar has a vast experience conducting and executing anti-counterfeiting operations in Venezuela and in general in Latin America, covering the control of the whole process of enforcement campaigns, including investigations, execution of raids, seizures, border measures, and prosecution, designing and executing successful campaigns on behalf of international well known luxury brands, achieving significant positive results.

Mr. Gonzalez-Escobar studied at the Santa Maria University School of Law where he earned a J.D. and he was awarded a specialization in Intellectual Property Law from Los Andes University and a LL.M. in Intellectual Property from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. He also has been Professor of Copyright Law at the Andres Bello Catholic University (Caracas), and Invited Professor of Intellectual Property at the Superior School of the Venezuelan National Guard. In addition, he has written various articles and law reports concerning Intellectual Property and has participated as speaker and lecturer at many local and international conferences in this field.

Active member of many of the most prestigious Intellectual Property associations, such as the International Trademark Association (INTA) where he was Member of the Anti-counterfeiting and Enforcement Sub-Committee for Latin American and the Caribbean and currently serves as Member of the Free Trade Areas Subcommittee; Inter American Industrial Property Association (ASIPI) where he served as Secretary of the Anti-Piracy Committee and is the current president of the Fashion Law Committee; Venezuelan Industrial Property Agents Association (COVAPI); and the Miranda Bar Association (Venezuela).

Castor Gonzalez-Escobar speaks Spanish and is fluent in English.
